hanky edging

In the latest Ring of Tatters newsletter we are invited to enter some work for a competition, a handkerchief edged and with a corner, in white. I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing normally, but they suggest that there was a lack of entries last year, and so my public spirited side feels I should make an effort. I don't like working in white much, and I am sure I'll never get the whole way round a hanky without lots of mistakes, but for the moment I haven't even decided on a pattern! My first choice seemed to want to go in a circle... the second was too complicated, and the third, which is based on the clover bookmark by Kelly Luljak, I'm not sure how to fancy up the corner. I'm using DMC 50, as I think 80 will take too long...ideas, suggestions?
