I've got a while yet to decide on this, but I'm a terrible procrastinator, and if I don't ask now, I'll be going crazy a week before my wedding trying to figure this out.

I would like to make my own wedding veil.

I would like it to be some kind of handmade lace (my three skills are knitting, crochet and tatting.) I have found several nice patterns in all three mediums.

But I would like to ask about what OTHER people have done, and their experiences.

Any hint or tip that you discovered while trying to do something similar? Something that I might be over looking? Any screams of "dear gods no, don't do it! I tried and nearly gouged my eyes out with a wooden spoon it was so terrible?"
