MP: many things of craftiness
Dec. 14th, 2008 04:56 amIt's been a little while since I've posted anything on here, although I haven't been completely craft-less since the last posting. Mostly I've just been frantically trying to take care of a million and one things, most importantly getting classes scheduled and financial aid straightened out for grad school. There will be more craft pictures after the holidays, once certain gifts are finished and then given. A mix of tatting a cross-stitch (because I'm lazy and only want to make up 1 blog post), so enjoy!
Tatting
Sam's dragon [same pattern as the others I have posted on
tatted in size 10 blue & white variegated thread by Aunt Lydia
angel tatted in DMC size 8 white thread
pattern is from Birgit Phelps called Supersimple Angel
angel tatted in DMC size 8 ecru thread
pattern again is from Birgit Phelps and is called Li'l Angel
a simple bookmark made for giggles
tatted in DMC size 20 thread of some shade of purple [I'm horrible remembering names & numbers]
another bookmark I was playing around with; it reminds me of embroidered flowers or fans
tatted in size 10 white cotton thread
a doodle of a snowflake; it started out as one thing & mutated into a snowflake [and yes, I am pleased with the results]
tatted in size 10 white cotton thread
Cross-Stitch
I had fun using the over-dyed/hand-dyed thread I'd originally bought a couple of years ago to stitch a friend's wedding sampler and then didn't complete because her future hubby turned into demon spawn...anyone have a use for a pirate/naval themed wedding sampler?
I wish I could remember what blog I got this from, this it was a really quick stitch and she had so many others that look just as quick.
done on 14 count white Aida with The Gentle Art's "Purple Iris" (I know, the back-stitch is messy, but wasn't aware until after the back had been glued on the frame & wasn't about to ruin the whole piece)
the following two pieces are courtesy of About.com and their cross-stitch section for the holidays;
the dreidl is done on 14 count white Aida in The Gentle Art's "Sarsaparilla" and the back-stitched star of david is also done on 14 count white Aida with The Gentle Art's "Liberty"
