First: I sat down, looked at my thread exchange samples, and realized I won't use most of them (I honestly find tatting with size 5-20 thread uncomfortable, and unfortunately using fine tatting cotton has the same problem plus I have a hard time seeing what I'm doing). I've got some other bits as well - anyone want an envelope with random thread sample lengths?

Second: does anyone have recommendations (links?) for a tatted fan pattern (one of the ones I'd have to attach to a folding fan frame thing)? I've decided that's what I want to try for next year's state fair entry.

http://www.lacet.co.uk/ has a fan pattern, and there is this thing http://www.lecurieux.com/Frivolite/frivolite.htm which I'm admiring for a long time already without really getting it.

That second one is gorgeous - it doesn't even look like tatting until you study the close-ups!
