[identity profile] gyrlcentric.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] tatting
hello all, i am misty and i just started trying to teach myself tatting a few weeks ago. the pop/flip was what i had difficulty with, i did figure it out last weekend. I am starting with shuttle-tatting. i became interested in tatting after my mother and i were talking about 'lost arts' and she gave me some pieces of embroidery/tatting that my great-great grandmother had worked. they are so beautiful, i hope to recreate the patterns eventually.

i plan to keep a digital scrapbook of my work, so hopefully my husband will find that camera soon..

i happy to have found this community and hope to get to know you all =)

Welcome!!! Glad to have you in the comm. :) If you have a scanner (or when you find the camera), we'd love to see your g-g-gma's work, too. And yours, naturally!

Btw, I love your icon. What's the source? I'm always on the lookout for antique patterns.

Good luck! I had a really hard time with shuttle tatting and eventually gave up on it. I needle tat now, and it's a lot easier on my hands....
