What's up?
Oct. 17th, 2006 05:27 pmHi guys!
I haven't seen any activity lately on the forum. Is everyone busy working and tatting? What have you been doing lately?
I have been challenging myself with a couple of challenges. I'm with the "25 Motifs" challenge and a personal one of "100 Motifs" challenge. I'm pretty much advance on the 100. I have 57 done already. On the 25 I'm up to 9. But I'll try to work something this afternoon.
For the 100 challenge I'm doing just that, motifs, all of them worked in white DMC Petra #8. The motifs are form some books or online patterns.
But for the 25 challenge I'm designing them using a different technique. There's one I have to change because I came with a pattern. I didn't had a motif to represent "chains only" and made one from a Finnish book. But I came with one now. I just need to upload a pic of it.
Here are 2 pics of my motifs...
This one is part of the "100 Motifs Challenge". I originally made this one as another challenge from the online class. The challenge was to make a motif or snowflake from this edging. Also is part of the Tat Along Project.
This one is from the "25 Motifs" Challenge and it's to represent the Josephine Knot technique.
All the motifs are on my Y360 blog. You're welcome to visit.
So NOW... What are you working on?
Wally

Date: 2006-10-18 12:52 pm (UTC)What I do when I'm tatting in a public place and my thread can roll off my tatting box, I use a wrist bag. It's a danty bag made of a handkerchief and decorated with tatting. I placed it on the wrist and place inside the ball of thread. I don't have any problem of the thread rolling all over the place.
Now you don't have an excuse to not to tat in the theater! LOL Just kidding.

Date: 2006-10-18 08:19 pm (UTC)As for the wrist holder, that'd be great if I weren't in charge of costumes (& will be stage manager also). I have to be able to put stuff down at a moment's notice. I'd be too afraid the bag would get ruined too. I'm only knitting with hardy stuff that can be easily cleaned. ;)
Of course, as humid as it's been lately, I haven't wanted to do anything with yarn or thread. There's no heat or a/c in the building, so we're all sweating horribly!
