Baby's bonnet.

My very best friend is due with her first baby - a little girl - and I wanted to make her something very special and unique. I chose a beautiful pattern for a ruffled baby's bonnet, and I ordered the pattern from a woman in Spain.

And now I share with you all the finished piece.

Modeled by a stuffed black sheep (later given to friend as well).

Inserting the ribbon. (This was the absolutely hardest part, as I didn't know how to sew and had to learn basic stuff first!)

Wherever did you find that pattern? You mention buying it from a woman in Spain -- is there a link (or some other contact info) where the rest of us might buy our own copies of the pattern?

Darn. Nobody in my family appears to be spawning anytime soon... *considers making a bonnet for the "someday" gift bin*

I found the pattern in an eBay auction (for just $4.35!), but a long search now only comes up empty-handed. It seems that the seller is no longer selling it. However, if you would email me (mailto:sncleghorn@cox.net), I'd be happy to send along a copy of the .pdf file.
