Baby's bonnet.
May. 30th, 2007 06:45 pmMy very best friend is due with her first baby - a little girl - and I wanted to make her something very special and unique. I chose a beautiful pattern for a ruffled baby's bonnet, and I ordered the pattern from a woman in Spain.
And now I share with you all the finished piece.

Three rows in...

Six rows down.

Modeled by a stuffed black sheep (later given to friend as well).

Detail in the crown.

My boys' stuffed dog tries to be a model.

The bear tries on the too-long-in-the-front piece instead.

A close-up.

The actual tatting part completed.

Close-up.

Inserting the ribbon. (This was the absolutely hardest part, as I didn't know how to sew and had to learn basic stuff first!)

With the ruffle firmly tacked in place.

And a side view.
Thanks for looking!
